When asked by host Jimmy, 46, what the finale has in store, Tom played coy, but did suggest fans will get the answers they want.

‘Can you set up anything for what we’re about to see [on] Wednesday?’ asked Jimmy.

Tom, appearing via video link from London, replied: ‘What I can tell you, is if you’ve followed the show thus far, all the audience, and the characters, have a lot of questions about the Time Variance Authority (TVA).

‘Who made it? What is it? Who runs it? Is it run by anyone? All I can say is, time will tell.’

Wednesday’s much-anticipated finale saw Loki and Sylvie (Sophia di Martino) discover the villain behind the TVA. Jonathan Majors plays the mysterious bad guy, who is reported to be a version of Marvel’s time-travelling villain Kang.

Kang offers Loki and Sylvie two options.

One, they can take revenge and kill him, but risk upsetting the Sacred Timeline.

Two, the pair can take his place as the head of the TVA.
