adidas Consortium Enlists Original ZX Creator for Upcoming ZX 10000 JC

adidas continues to extend its heritage-inspired ZX division with the release of the Consortium-supported ZX 10000 JC.

The Consortium pair was developed alongside Jacques Chassaing, adidas’ original designer of ZX footwear. In 1984, Chassaing introduced the ZX500 as a runner for full-time athletes, but soon he realized the shoe had been picked up by sneaker aficionados for more than just its performance capabilities.

Today, adidas Originals’ ZX 10000 gets the Chassaing treatment as it sports a number of premium retro details. Suede has been used all around, with smooth panels working the toe box, mid-panel and heel in dark blue. Alongside this are sections of hairy suede in a light navy blue that form parts of the vamp and eyestay.

Elsewhere you’ll find a navy blue mesh underlay that carries all the way from the toe box to the heel, as well as 3M detailing on the toe, Three Stripes and around the wraparound heel adidas branding. Rounding off this pair is a neon green Torsion lace lock — noting the sneaker’s technical in-sole capabilities — and a large Trefoil logo in silver on the heel cup.

Take a look at the adidas Consortium ZX 10000 JC in “Navy/White” in the gallery above, and pick up a pair for yourself on December 28 for €150 EUR (approx. $166 USD) from stockists such as Sivasdescalzo.
