Balenciaga‘s popular Track.2 sneaker is back in a bold new black, yellow and blue colorway. Combining a dark base with bright and sporty accenting tones, this Track.2 plays up its heavily-layered look to the fullest. Most styles of the chunky silhouette sit decidedly on the neutral or vibrant end of the color spectrum, but this pair opts to buck that trend by pulling colors from both sides to arrive directly in the middle.
Mesh booties and a vast majority of the overlays are dressed in a smoky black, but yellow and blue accents reminiscent of the Air Jordan 5 “Laney” provide a healthy dose of athletically inclined flair. These wrap around the aforementioned bootie in both horizontal and vertical fashion — some adorned with contrasting stripes, some monochromatic — playing up the layered look to the highest extent possible.
With the silhouette plenty loud as is, branding is kept to a minimum. Balenciaga hits appear on the forefoot and outsole, a Track graphic is stamped on the heel and double B’s are debossed on the toe cap. Each shoe’s sizes is embroidered in black thread on its yellow toebox overlay, and a signature chunky midsole that mixes all three tones completes the look. These Track.2s even come with an extra set of laces for added flair.
The Balenciaga Track.2 “Black/Yellow/Blue” is available now via the Balenciaga webstore, and retails for a handsome $895 USD.
