Still mad: Her E! show Busy Tonight was cancelled in May after less than a year. And Busy Philipps ended 2019 with a rant on Instagram about how she was ‘blindsided’ by the news
She recalled that on April 5, 2019, she had traveled to Dallas to shoot commercials and when she landed, she responded to a text from her manager asking her to call.
‘She told me E! would not renew my show after the order was finished in a month. It was effectively cancelled. I was blindsided, especially since the last text I had from the head of E (who’s now gone) was about marketing for busy tonight that he was excited to tell me about,’ she wrote.
‘I sat in the lobby of the hotel in Dallas and ordered three tequilas…. and I cried,’ she said.
She posted two selfies, one showing herself when she heard the news and another showing her with tear-smudged mascara running down her face.
