New Year’s Eve is finally here.

Several luminaries took to Instagram to share how happy they are to be saying goodbye to 2020 – which started with the death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant and is ending with a horrendous spike in COVID-19 – and welcoming in 2021 which will see a vaccinated country and a new President.

The notes were full of inspiration as the celebrities tried to boost the morale of a beleaguered nation.

The Voice star showed how she rang in 2020 and how she will ring in 2021 (with a mask).

The 36-year-old Ugly Betty star said, ‘This was the year I…had my baby girl during a pandemic learned to mother two children at once (during a pandemic) pumped a lot of breast milk while exhausted out of my mind had very little quality time with my husband but managed to sneak away to celebrate our 15 year anniversary ❤️,’ she said.

The hitmaker is set to ring in 2021 in style Thursday with a special, state-of-the-art live stream event, and fans will also be treated to the first ever performance of his brand new track.

Confirming the exciting news this week, he tweeted: ‘Oh yeah I’m performing my new single #ANYONE during #BieberNYE tomorrow night.’

Justin released his most recent album Changes in February, and he has since kicked off his new era with singles’Holy and Lonel’.

The 26-year-old singer’s live stream will be his first full-length concert since 2017.

He wrote on Twitter: ‘Feeling so blessed for this opportunity to perform this New Years. Excited to celebrate with you all http://Justinbiebernye.com.’

The star has teamed up with tech giant T-Mobile to put on the ‘NYE Live with Justin Bieber’ event, during which he will be supported by a five-piece band and a crew of dancers.

Justin has shared numerous videos of him rehearsing for the show, and he has teased supporters they can expect a “wild” event.

He wrote on Instagram: ‘NYE is going to be wild, come vibe with me as we bring in 2021.’ T-Mobile customers can get free access to the livestream, or those who are not with the network can pay $25 (£18).

The show will initially air at 3.15am GMT (10:15pm EST) on January 1st, and it will re-air twice later that day.

Also, CNN’s Ana Cabrera, Stephanie Elam, Randi Kaye, Richard Quest, Gary Tuchman, and Bill Weir.

– Community actors Ken Jeong and Joel McHale team up in Los Angeles for a three-and-a-half-hour New Year’s Eve Special special from Fox. Gloria Estefan, Ava Max, Gabby Barrett, Green Day, John Legend and LeAnn Rimes will perform.

– United in Song: A Celebration of America’s Resilience on PBS features musical performances by Josh Groban, Patti LaBelle, Yo-Yo Ma, Audra McDonald, Renée Fleming, Joshua Bell.

NBC’s New Year’s Eve on NBC has Carson Daly as host, with Amber Ruffin, from New York City. The broadcast will feature performances from across the country by AJR, Busta Rhymes featuring Anderson .Paak, Chloe x Halle, CNCO, Jason Derulo, Goo Goo Dolls, Kylie Minogue, Pentatonix, Bebe Rexha featuring Doja Cat, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Sting featuring Shirazee.

Times Square New Year’s Eve Webcast on ET has Andra Day singing for the six-hour, commercial-free webcast and TV pool feed from New York City. Other performers include Gloria Gaynor, Anitta, Pitbull, the USO Show Troupe, and The Waffle Crew.
