Lisa Wilkinson welcomes former co-host Karl Stefanovic to The Project

Lisa Wilkinson appears to have silenced reports of a feud with former Today show co-host Karl Stefanovic.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Lisa, who now presents Channel Ten’s The Sunday Project, hinted at the possibility of Karl joining the program that night as a guest.

Lisa, 60, sat alongside Karl, 46, on the Today show for 10 years, before leaving Nine in October 2017 over a reported gender pay gap dispute.

What feud? Lisa Wilkinson, 60, hinted at former Today co-host Karl Stefanovic, 46, joining The Sunday Project this week as a guest, three years after her exit from Nine over a reported gender pay gap dispute. Both are pictured on Today

The journalist shared a celebratory photo of herself with Karl and comedian Tom Gleeson from the 2017 Logie Awards.

‘Which one of these Gold Logie winners is making a very special appearance on Sunday @theprojecttv tonight?’ Lisa asked her fans in the post’s caption.

Perhaps hinting at Karl, Lisa continued: ‘Clue: he may have had just a leeeeeeetle (sic) bit too much to drink on one very memorable occasion!’

However, Karl did not in fact appear on The Sunday Project. Considering Karl is contracted to a rival network, it’s highly unlikely he would appear on Channel Ten.

Meanwhile, Lisa was believed to have quit Today because Karl as her male co-host, was reportedly earning $2million a year with a potential bonus that could take his salary to $3million if ratings were a hit, The Australian wrote in 2017.

Lisa was said to be on a $1.1million a year contract, with Nine only willing to increase the amount to $1.8million, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The amount was reportedly not enough for her to stay with the network, prompting her departure.

Since joining The Sunday Project in 2018, Lisa has landed sit-down interviews with the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kylie Minogue and Bradley Cooper.

In an interview with The Herald Sun in December 2018, Lisa applauded the ‘integrity’ and high ‘calibre’ of her colleagues at Ten, referencing Carrie Bickmore, Fifi Box, Amanda Keller, Julia Morris and Gorgi Coghlan.

‘One of the absolute bonuses that I really hadn’t anticipated in moving to Ten, is the calibre of my colleagues,’ she said.
