Nike Debuts New Sustainable VaporMax 2020 for Tokyo Olympics

As part of Team USA’s “Medal Stand” collection, Nike has debuted the all-new sustainable VaporMax 2020 just ahead of the forthcoming Tokyo Summer Olympics.

The updated, environmentally friendly, low-impact VaporMax is made from 75 percent recycled manufacturing waste. The Flyknit upper is crafted from recycled-polyester, and features multi-colored threading inspired by a bird’s eye view of piles of waste. Additional features include FlyEase laceless technology, which allows for effortless, lock-down fits for athletes of all ability. Over on the heels, they’ve been upgraded with a sleeker shape and curvy molds plastered to the rear.

The sneaker was originally unveiled as part of Team USA’s “Medal Stand” collection, which features Nike‘s iconic Windrunner jacket and a pair of pants made from 100 percent recycled polyester. Additionally embellishments such as the drawcord tips, zipper pulls and Swoosh branding are made from Nike Grind rubber.

So far no release date has been shared for the VaporMax 2020, but they should land just ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which kicks off on July 24, at select Nike retailers and Nike’s online store. So far the colorways to be revealed are an icy blue iteration for the Team USA edition, and an oceanic marble for its GR colorway.
