Three Minutes of Fighting Over a Half-Naked Man in Assassin's Creed Syndicate

By Dr. Evelyn Reed | January 01, 0001 | 7 min read

Where is a guy supposed to dump a body around here? Here is a three-minute video—taken from a late-game mission but devoid of spoilers—from Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, a game I quite like. The setup: Jacob Frye, the assassin I’m controlling, has just knocked out a British royal guardsman and stolen his uniform. Next, he’s (we’re?) supposed to stash the body somewhere before escaping, hopefully rummy best without being seen. Because I’m a terrible assassin, and because I want the additional experience points and cash that come with meeting a bonus challenge, Jacob rummy golds is wandering the city streets in broad daylight looking for a carriage to put the body into. Of course, I can’t find a carriage that will accept the body, and I make the ludicrously poor decision to try to put the rummy best guardsman in the back of a police wagon.cnx.cmd.push(function(){cnx({"playerId":"e3616d04-4972-4839-a63a-c6975e2e9731","settings":{"advertising":{"macros":{"AD_UNIT":"/23178111854/od.kotaku.com/article","CHILD_UNIT":"article","POST_ID":"1738340955","POST_TYPE":"post","CHANNEL":"uncategorized","SECTION":"","SUBSECTION":"","CATEGORIES":"uncategorized","TAGS":"playstation,xbox","NOP":"0"},"timeBeforeFirstAd":0}}}).render("cnx-player-main")}); That’s what set off this brawl, which also demonstrates the fighting system in the game: On a PlayStation controller, the square button attacks, the circle button dodges, the triangle button uses your weapon rummy golds in defense or as part of a combo, and the rummy mars X button does a strong attack that breaks an opponent’s guard. The animations in the fight occur when I pull off a multi-takedown, which you can do when you get more than one enemy into a “near death” state. Even so, I wish failing in Syndicate led to something more than a procession of enemies who basically line up to take their beatings one at a time. But that’s what I get, I guess, for trying to hijack a police carriage. And man, I love Austin Wintory’s jaunty score. If rummy mars you can’t get enough about Assassin’s Creed, Stephen Totilo, the editor-in-chief of Kotaku, dropped by my podcast, Shall We Play a Game?, this week to talk about why he likes the series so much. I also talk more about Syndicate with my co-host, former NPR producer and correspondent JJ Sutherland. You can listen to the podcast here. The variety of games is excellent, including table games like blackjack, roulette, and baccarat, in addition to slots. This keeps the platform interesting and allows me to switch games depending on my mood. The mobile interface is smooth and intuitive. I can play all my favorite slots on the go without experiencing any lag or glitches. The design is responsive and user-friendly, which makes gaming on my phone just as enjoyable as on my computer.

The promotions and bonuses offered are very generous. I especially love the daily free spins and deposit bonuses. They make playing even more enjoyable and increase my chances of winning big. The platform keeps me engaged for hours every day. I love the overall aesthetic of the platform. The animations, visual effects, and sound design make the gaming experience more dynamic and immersive. It's one of the reasons I keep coming back. Sometimes I wish there were more ways to earn rewards through loyalty programs or frequent player bonuses. Adding seasonal events or special challenges could enhance the excitement even further.
